Owatonna Youth Hockey researched many options before choosing Sports Made Easy by Splett Consulting. We have had several attempts to do a web page ourselves but they were not effective and not used. We researched many sites of other associations and found the best sites had a common item. They were all done by Splett Consulting.

The key reason we chose Sports Made Easy is some basics. It quickly tells the parents and players where they need to be and how to get there. The unexpected benefits we found were increased attendance at our games and a stronger sense of community within our programs. Typically once the season begins everyone is too busy with their own team to see how others are doing. The web page changed this. As fans and players check out their own team's info they are quickly drawn to see how their friends are doing. We also used it as a common site for all of Owatonna hockey whether it was Park and Rec, Youth Hockey or the High School. We had the best level of input from our Varsity coaches this year and High School mentoring of our youth teams. Our fund raising concession stand even benefited as more people became aware of games and how teams were doing - traffic was up. We even found Alumni of OYHA following the web page from their college dorms. Grandparents and out of town family members also enjoyed the stories and getting results of games.

Each teams has taken strong ownership in managing their portion of the page. Parent satisfaction from increased communications between them and OYHA was significantly improved. Coaches and team managers were happy as the web page is easy to use and saved them a lot of time. Many now consider the scheduling and distributed Coaches Message e-mail a must have.

When you consider the cost of developing, hosting, training, maintaining your own web site, Sports Made Easy is a cost competitive solution. Many volunteers have faded over a long hockey season, having an independent company maintain the site guaranteed it was there and maintained. When you look at the value added features, on going improvements and sheer usage numbers it becomes a "no brainer."

The Minnetonka Youth Hockey Association is very pleased and satisfied with the web site created by Splett Consulting for our organization. We had prior experience with a much simpler web site, but our 650+ player organization had out grown it. We needed to find a solution that would fulfill the 3 C's - Communication, Convenience and Community.

The Sports Made Easy web site product allows our organization to quickly and easily communicate to our teams, players, parents and the community. It also allows our teams to communicate quickly and effectively to their players and parents. Gone are the days when our only communication tool was a monthly newsletter that contained "old" news.

While we have many "computer guys" in our organization, we did not want a web site that we would have to maintain by ourselves (as in - even after our own kids had graduated out of youth hockey). We appreciate the fact that the Sports Made Easy solution requires so little time to set-up and manage. It makes finding and training replacements a breeze. Sports Made Easy's phone and email support has been great when needed and they are always ready to listen to their customers about new features or enhancements.
